Frédérique Loutz
The Shower Must Go On

Proliferation, strangeness, vigor and coherence characterize Frédérique Loutz’s practice. The artist invites us into a hybrid universe in which the beautiful confronts the terrifying, often inspired by the rich imaginary of legends, myths and fairy tales. Resident at the Villa Medicis in Rome in 2006 and 2007, she was nominated for the drawing prize from the Daniel & Florence Guerlain Foundation for Contemporary Art in 2009. She also participated in the Force de l’Art in the same year. She lives and works in France and teaches at the École Supérieure d’Art et de Design Marseille-Méditerranée. Her work is part of numerous public and private collections in France and abroad.
